Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana
Two of my friends were involved in a car accident. They are still waiting on their settlement checks, but supposedly they can't get their checks until the passenger of the other car settles. Also, apparently the insurance company has not been able to get in touch with this passenger since the accident (he is also sixteen years old). Is there anything they can do to assure they get their settlements?

There are laws that protect the injured from insurance companies who do not pay. If they have an attorney, he will know what to do to threaten them with penalties and then if they do not respond timely, they can sue for those penalties plus attorneys fees and interest on the amount they failed to pay.
