Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana
My husband was involved in an accident about a month ago. The other person was at fault and we've decided to file the claim with their insurance company. My question though is concerning their payment. They refuse to negotiate the price of our vehicle, stating that we were paid the value of our current car, not an amount to replace it with a similar vehicle. Does this sound right? I've always heard you could negotiate with them, but it sounds weird that they say we can't negotiate the price.

All they are going to pay is the blue book value. If you have proof the vehicle is worth more, then you can take them to court.
