Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana

I was involved in an accident where I was sitting at a yield sign waiting on traffic and was rear ended. The woman left the scene of the accident and I chased her and blocked her in and called 911. She was issued three tickets including fleeing the scene. My passenger and I went to the hospital with back and neck pain and I am 5 week post op of a hysterectomy so the lap band caused internal bruising and pain. My insurance is fixing my car and will get her insurance company to reimburse them. I have 50k bodily injury and NO medical reimbursement the other woman has liability with minimal coverage I am sure. My insurance company is telling me all they can do is fix my car. Is there any way to get them to compensate us?

If you do not have UM to cover your own injuries, your only option is to sue the person that hit you.
