Liability in Car Accident
How does a passenger get medical bills and compensation if ticketed driver does not have adequate insurance? Can passenger sue insurance of vehicle in which he was riding? Passenger is prisoner in state van being transported to hospital for dr appt. Prisoner has substantial injuries which result in permanent complete loss of hearing.

If vehicle in which passenger was riding had med-pay (medical payments) coverage, then they should pay for the medicals.......however, since the passenger was a prisoner, he is entitled to medical treatment either through the auto insurance or through the facility in which he was encarcerated at the time of the accident.
