Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana
Liability
My son is 19 years old and was recently involved in an accident where he bumped the side of another car causing two scratches. My question is : I have full coverage on the vehicle with him as a driver, but can the other person involved in the accident sue me in excess of the insurance limits. He said he was fine, but I am concerned he can sue me even though my son is 19.

Re: Liability
I have to disagree with the one answer posted on here. Unless YOUR negligence caused the accident, you were driving OR you knew your son should NOT have been driving, the suit would be against the insurance company and your son. He is a major at 19. You could be sued of course, but you must be negligent to be responsible.
Re: Liability
In the event that a judgment is entered against you that is higher than the amount of your policy, assuming that the reason is not due to your insurer's bad faith, you would be liable for it. It's possible, but not likely.
