Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana
Who is liable?
A 20 year old college student living with parents drives vehicle owned and insured in parents names. Causes accident involving serious injuries. He is liable as driver. Are parents also liable since vehicle and insurance is in their name? Student is listed as driver on policy. Thanks.

Re: Who is liable?
The parents do not have personal liability for damages caused by their adult children. The insurer is liable as insurer, regardless who pays the premium.

Re: Who is liable?
The parents are not liable for the acts of their adult children. You should have had the uninsured motorist coverage I spoke about in my previous answer. I am sorry the answer is not different.
