Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana

life insurance

My wife recently died. She had Alzheimer's for many years but had, before her illness, taken care of business for us. She had some life insurance policies. I can't find paperwork on policies nor do I know the company(s) names. Is there a data base to find life insurance on someone? If so how do I access this data base. Help please.

I do not know off hand of any database, but there are ways to search for it. I would check all the current mail or old mail and see if there are any letters which might relate to a policy. We, and many other law offices, do investigation into the property of a deceased in connection with the opening of their succession or for a percentage of anything recovered. There are also non-lawyers who do the same thing.
