resolving accident

i was in a wreck 16 months ago april 24th 2006, finished with all dr.s and released . my attonery says he will resolve the case with the other party insurance, it has been 3 weeks . i can never speak with my attorney, so when i speak to one of the secretaries they tell me that my bills and (medical ) has to be certified and it goes on and on please let me know if this is true what they are telling me. i am clear of all medical bills because i signed a check (many) that paid all medical bills i just dont understand what is going on thank you kindly.

You have 12 months after the accident to file suit. If you are worried, go to the courthouse in the parish where the accident happened and ask someone in civil records to check and see if there is a lawsuit with you as the plaintiff. If one is not filed, your rights may have been lost. If you do not want to do that, call his office and tell his secretary if you do not get satisfactory answers within 24 hours you are going to file a complaint with the bar association. Then do it.
