Legal Question in Insurance Law in Louisiana

My son was at a party and was cold cocked for no reason at all. We have been hit with thousands of dollars in medical bills ( Broken nose and cheek bone) and feel that the homeowners property insurance should help cover our deductible for medical bills. The person who hit my son was arrested and charged with first degree battery but was not related to the home owner. What is the best way to move forward. We would rather stay out of the courts but if need be will hire a lawyer. My son has also lost work and due to the fact this incident happened on finals week, missed all of his Spring finals. Thank you for your help in this matter. Robert

You are asking a site of lawyers how to proceed without a lawyer!! You can't unless you want to listen to the dang insurance company talk to you about deductIbles!!!! ALL OF THE MEDICALS SHOULD BE PAID BY SOMEONE ELSE! The person who hit your kid may have homeowners insurance on his property......I know the thing happened on someone elses property but you do not understand the law. If the kid who hit your son is a minor......and I assume your kid is a minor.....then his parents have insurance.....anyway............it is well worth it to hire an attorney.
