What are theft charges for Juveniles in louisiana?

The same crimes which apply to adults, apply to juveniles. Depending on the amount stolen or severity, a juvenile could face detention until they are 21 if convicted.

I agree with Ms. Lucas with the exception that not all convictions require detention until age 21.....I know she said COULD FACE, but I cannot remember any juvenile getting until age 21 for a theft. Meaning that at age 17 they are considered adults for criminal purposes.....so at 16 if they are incarcerated until 21 that would be 5 years. Like I said, in 39 years of practice, I have not seen a juvey get 5 years or more for theft.
