Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

Age Discrimination

Just recently (June 3) I was dismissed for poor job performance. I had indicated to my manager on June 1 that I was to have a Doctors appt. to schedule a medical procedure for a lower back injury possibly caused on the job. On or about March 3 I was given an excellent job performance for my yearly review. Something is not adding up. This past Monday 08/22 I was informed by a former co-worker that I was replaced by a young man in his early 20's and that he had just started approx. 2 weeks ago. Additionally, this manager made my stay there next to unbearable.

Do I have any ground to stand on here?

Thanks,

Re: Age Discrimination

Possibly. It is illegal to terminate someone because of a medical condition or because you beleive they might be disabled. It would also be illegal if your termination was because of a possible work related injury.
