Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana
Constructive discharge
I've been working virtually for 2.5 yrs for a company that bought my magazine. They have recently required only me (we have three other virtual staff) to keep a web cam on during work hours and have rescinded my ability to use a flex sched. to maintain my hours. I feel they are making the changes in hopes I will quit and they can deny me my bonuses and unemployment. We have a boss who is regularly verbally abusive, as well. If I quit, and it a constructive discharge (which it is) can they deny me my money?

Re: Constructive discharge
You cannot be denied any money you have "earned" at the time of your termination, no matter who terminates the employment. The only way you can lose you unemployment is if you are terminated for good cause.
