Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana
Does email constitute binding contract?
I made an agreement through email to write some articles for a sports magazine. The editor promised a certain amount of money per article if he accepted them. He did accept the articles, commenting that they were well-written and owes me $450.00. When it came time to pay, he said that the person fronting his publishing costs wrote a bad check and he doesn't have the money to pay me. Doesn't he owe me the money whether his publisher paid him or not. My agreement was with him and I provided the articles and he accepted them. Do I have a claim against him for the $450.00?
