Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana
I was employed in a restaurant where the owner constantly yelled and screamed. He would yell at me because he was mad at someone else. On several occasions he cursed me and on one occasion he shoved me. I worked for him for a year and was never reprimanded for anything. I did a very good job and was one of his best employees. One occasion he was having a bad night and he asked me a question. I told him I didn't know but let me check. He started cursing me and yelling and said I didn't know what the "F" I was doing. After a year of enduring his verbal and mental abuse; I told the manager that I would finish the shift but I wouldn't be back. I was refused unemployment because I was told I quit without cause. Do I have any legal recourse?

You can fight the unemployment refusal. Ask for a hearing and then tell your side of the story. Otherwise, there is little you can do. The shove could have been a battery but you would only have a year from the date of the incidence to file charges and the DA may not accept.
