Employee is using his or her personnel vehicle for company business

Question:

Situation: an employee is using his or her personnel vehicle for company business and is issued a company credit card to pay for gas only.

On occasion employee is required to work on a project where the employer is able to charge his client a daily rate and mileage for the employee�s vehicle.

Is the employee entitle to any part of the money collected by his or her employer for the use of the employee�s vehicle?

For example is the employee entitle to a prorated portion of money collected do to the fact that the gas is paid for by the company.

It depends on your agreement with your employer and not the agreement between he and the customer. However, vehicle expenses incurred for your job for which you are not reimbursed, as well as depreciation, may be deductible on your income tax return. Consult your tax preparer to determin whether you qualify or not.
