Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

Can i file a lawsuit against a employer that lied to unemployment stating i never returned back to work when i provided documentation that i was on sick leave.

unemployment found them to be wrong when i submitted a document stating my job was terminated. but i suffered for 16 weeks with no pay because of this lie

If you received sick leave, then you were paid. If you were terminated after that, then unless you have a discrimination suit for wrongful discharge, all you have is unemployment compensation and from what I read, you did finally receive that. Attempting to commit fraud on a government agency is a crime, so if you have proof that happened, go see the prosecutor.
