Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

I was fired from my job and my boss started telling people that worked with me and people that didn't work with me why I was fired and told them the same things he told me and added more reasons, is that legal or do I have a case.. I have atleast 4 witnesses..

Slander requires that someone intentionally damage another's reputation by saying things that are untrue. There must be actual damage done to the other.
