Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

Forced to quit a company by major chem co to work for a another.

I worked for an inspection co. at Dow Chem. I was told by Dow that if I wanted to work at this location, I would have to go to work with my company's competitor. I had worked at my position with Dow for 7 years. I had group insurance coverage and a liver disease with Hep B. The company that I had to go to work for, their group will not cover me. The reason that I had to switch companies was that the company I worked for did not have a contract, but my company had been there for 9+ years at the same location. Dow and the company that I went to work for both knew of my medical condition and led me to believe that I would be covered by their group insurer but I am not. Now I have added expenses and Dow has brought my former company back to the site, still with no contract. Please let me know if this was legal for Dow and Turner to do me this way, this has placed an undue burden on me and my family. Thanks for your reply.

You are entitled to health insurance with the new company.
