Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana
Hello,
I have recently been charged with illegal use of a copyright trademark. I was working in a flea market and the owner claimed I was the "owner" when the undercover agent asked him. I was arrested and the charges were dropped then picked up by the AG office. This arrest was a felony and is on my background as pending. I have been turned down from numerous jobs as a result even though I am extremely qualified. Is there anything I can do to get an employer to hire me while there is a pending charge?

Dear LawGuru Friend,
Indeed, assuming that the facts stated in your question
are accurate and complete, you have been done wrong! I
would like to discuss this matter with you by phone, if you
would e-mail me your phone number to [email protected].
Now with that said, I will say to you that there is much you can do
to get your name cleared so that you are not confronted with this
unfortunate incident each time you apply for a job. You say there
is a pending charge. E-mail me and tell me where it is pending
and we'll study together the ways there to get it "dismissed". I
am curious whether you are already represented by legal counsel.
You can answer that question for me should you follow up on my
suggestion and e-mail me. As for myself, I am a retired lawyer,
having "retired" after having practiced law for forty-one years. Yet
I am still a lawyer and I am still in love with the law and I am still
dedicated to my lifetime calling of helping others. I hope to hear back
from you. Again, my e-mail address is [email protected].
We are not supposed to list our telephone numbers in our answers
to LawGuru questions.
