Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

If I was hired for two days at IHOP and I was in the system then they tell me they hired to many people and have to let me go is that wrongful termination? The employment was "at will" but I was under the impression that they still needed a valid reason to terminate employment. They did not give me a pink slip so I was not fired, I was just simply let go. I was doing my job, never brought a phone to work or anything, was polite to everyone. The manager himself even said he didnt want to let me go but the bigger manager was forcing him to let the two trainees go. Do I have a lawsuit here? Especailly if anything just for reimbursment of the slip resistant shoes and the uniform that i purchased.

"At will" means just that. No reason is needed as long as its not prohibited by law such as on account of race etc.
