Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

Job diminishment

I am a full time banquet captain along with 4 others at a certain hotel. They have desided to transfer a former manager into our department as a sixth banquet captain. The business at the hotel does not justify hiring a sixth captain and will not in the foreseeable future. All five captains are currently not getting 40 hours per week and usually we average 28 to 30. Is it illegal for them to bring in another employee which will take hours away from us when we are already not recieving hours for our full time status. I have heard a term called job diminishment. Does that apply here?

Thank you
