Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana
I live in Louisiana and was fired from my job 2 days before my 3rd year anniversary. I was told that I had no vacation time coming to me because I did not make the 3rd year and was terminated 2 days before my anniversary. I would have been owed 10 days of vacation pay. Didn't I earn that? Wasn't I earning that vacation pay every 2 weeks throughout the year? From my understanding it should have been accruing the entire year I was working.

The answer depends on when you earn vacation, and that depends on the language of the vacation policy and/or past practice of your former employer. You would need to provide a copy of the vacation plan for anyone to make the determination of whether you are owed vacation time or not.
