Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana
Pay X2 out of X1's pay
Is it legal for an employer to pay another employee out of another employee's check for not showing up to meet for a job. X was supposed to meet another X for a job. First X didn't show, so the employer payed X2 out of X1's pay check.

The answer to your question depends on several factors. First, whether you are a salaried or hourly employee. If salaried, it may be allowed under state law, but might violate federal law. If you are hourly, it might violate federal law if it causes you to make less than minimum wage. Louisiana law prohibits an employer from "fining" employees, but there are exceptions for "willful absences" - the answer to your question, therefore, depends on the specfic facts.
