Federal law requires that any non-exempt employee (e.g., an hourly wage employee, not a salaried employee) must receive overtime pay (1.5x) for every hour they work in a week over 40 hours. They do not have to pay you overtime if you work more than 8 hours in a day, but they do if you work more than 40 hours in a week. If they fail to pay overtime, not only do you have a claim, every employee in the company has a claim and it could be made in a class action.
