If my boss tells me he's laying me off 1 week before my paid vacation eligiblity and I ask him for 2 weeks to look for another job while still employed and he accepts. When my paid vacation date arrives and I am still employed am I still eligibile for it?

If you "earned" the vacation then you have a right to get paid for it. However, if you do not show up for work while looking for another job, then that could be interpreted as your vacation. So, show up for work while looking for another job and then take your vacation or ask to be paid for it. If you cannot look for the new job while still going to work, then you will probably have to sue for the extra 2 weeks and if I were the judge, I would not give it to you.
