Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

Workmans Comp

I was hired at a local store and was injured while lifting and loading. I was hired as a cashier. I reported the injury to the acting manager and she sent me home. I went to the doctor and reported this to the manager. She replied that they were not going to pay anything and hung up. There are no Workmans Comp signs for numbers for me to call myself and my manager won't give me the number to call my supervisor. Is this legal?

Re: Workmans Comp

If you were injuried on the job, your employer must have worker's comp insurance or be personally liable for you comp benefits. If you do not want to speak with an attorney, call the Insurance Commissioner's office in Baton Rouge and seek assistance.
