Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Louisiana

Bad Surgery

In January 2000 I had a total knee replacement. In July of 2001 it was determined that I had a Staph Infection in that knee. It had to be removed and I spent 3 months in a long term care Hospital. In late november they put in another knee. I had pretty good mobility from the first operation but now I can hardley walk. I continue to have swelling and fever in the knee. The Doctor keeps saying it will get better but it hasn't. I think the doctor botched the surgery, I have no proof but I was walking good after the first surgery and now I think he might be buying time till the staute of limitations runs out. Do I have any recourse against the Doctor, or the Hopspital where I got the Staph infection??

Re: Bad Surgery

You need to obtain a complete set of hospital and doctors' records so someone can read them and give you an opinion. Staph infections are very common, so determining the cause of yours is important, as well as getting an expert opinion concerning the knee replacements.
