Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Louisiana

Am I entitled to any portion of this estate?

My step-mother-inlaw's will is being settled. My father-law(Sr) died several years ago--at the time, my husband(Jr) signed his portion of the inhertence over to Sr.s wife. My husband(Jr) died 22 years ago as a resident of PA. We had reciprocal wills which left his estate to me. Which state has precedence in deciding what will happen to his portion of the estate--PA which left Jr's estate to me or LA which says only blood relatives can inherit?

Assuming Jr. was a resident of Pennsylvania when he died, then that state has jurisdiction. However, successions must be opened in each state where the deceased left property.
