Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Louisiana

Incompetent aTTORNEY

I would like to get an opinion on whether I am getting competent defense and if not what my options are.

I was arrested for PWIT Distrubute 2.7 g of cocaine. I have no priors. My ex-wife is writing letters to the judge and DA making things worse. My attorney's do not returnmy calls and I only see them at court. I do not believe they have filed any motions on my behalf. Is this competent defense. And, since they got my $5000 up front what can I do now?

Plese Help

Although this was sent as a MEDICAL MALPRACTICE question, I will answer it. I do not know where you are located, so I may or may not know your attorneys. If you want an opinion about them, give me a call. Otherwise, you can continue to call, or make an appointment and sit with them and ask them to furnish you with what they have filed on your behalf. I do not know when the offense happened or at what stage you are in the process, so I cannot say what they should have done or not done. It could be they are working behind the scenes to make a deal. The money paid is certainly on the low side for the charge you are facing, but at the same time, I cannot see you doing jail time as a first offender. As for your ex-wife writing letters, I would try to get copies of those. You may have a cause of action against her.
