Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Louisiana

Time limitations

How long does one have to file an action against a Hospital and doctor thereof in reference to medical malpractice and/or indifference to ones medical needs? Also, is there a certain time limit to give them notice that one plans to file on them? Thank you very much.

The basic period is one year following the malpractice, or the discovery of the malpractice, but no longer than 3 years after the procedure.
