Legal Question in Military Law in Louisiana

military discharge

My husband has been in the Army almost 1 year. He got a waiver to get into the Army because his feet are severly flat. During basic he blew out his knee and when he thought he would be okay after it healing, it blew out again. It causes severe pain. Doctor said his feet do not support his body properly. He has tried boot insoles and knee braces but they make it worse. He is now deployed, but before he deployed he has continued to have the same problems in his knee and has went to the army hospital. The doctor was going to treat the problem until he found out he would deploy soon. Then instead he medically malpracticed him and said he is fine. Now he is having lots of trouble overseas. Now he wants medical discharge or discharge from the army. How can he go about this through a lawyer to get out?

Contact the national lawyers guild. They apparently have a project to help soldiers get out. No idea whether it is successful. They should at least have some resources available.
