Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

battery

A guy suckered punched me outside

of my fraterntiy house last Oct. I

suffered a broken jaw, was wired

shut for 6 weeks, had to drop the

current semester, 1 tooth pulled and

2 screws put in, and incurred

$30,000 in medical expenses. He

was found guilty of the criminal suit

in March of this year. My question is

what is the general timeframe for the

resolution of the civil suit? Also

possible judgment ranges?
