Depends on how bad the injuries are and the amount of medical bills. General damages are those things that you cannot see a specific dollar amount by looking at a receipt or bill. Medical bills are special damages which you can look at and see what was expended. Pain, suffering, loss of consortium etc are examples of general damages.
