What kind of lawyer do I need if the other party intends to pursue a lawsuit against me for additional damages that my insurance policy does not cover?

Your insurance company must defend you in the lawsuit. If the plaintiff will not dismiss you from the suit after policy limits are paid, then I would insist that the insurance company not settle and defend you.
