Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana
intentional STD transmission, do i have any claim??
Recently, I was dating a guy. About one month after becoming intimate with him I noticed something and went to my doctor. I was diagnosed with an irreversable STD which may affect my fertility and cost me much money through medical bills and treatment. Also, I spoke to his ex-girlfriend who confirmed my claim, saying she contracted the same disease from him. When confronted, he finally agreed that he did have the disease and knowingly allowed himself to pass it to me. He then threatened to physically hurt me and my home if I called him again or told anyone of his disease. Do I have any legal right to demand compensation for my medical expenses, or seek justice for my mental and physical suffering caused by his verbal abuse, violent threats, and intentional transmission of this disease??

You certainly do have a cause of action against this man for knowingly injuring you. And you owe it to the community to make sure others do not suffer your fate. Contact an attorney. I would suggest exploring his personal liability insurance, in addition to him personally.

Contact a lawyer. Knowingly transmitting an STD is certainly a personal injury.
