Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

Somebody loaned me their car. While I was driving it, there was an accident and it was totaled. I am paying the insurance deductible, but he insists that I pay the cost of a replacement vehicle above his insurance payoff. Am I legally obligated to do so in the state of LA?

The insurance you have on your vehicle or on yourself should take up not only the deductable but any other cost to you. If you did not have insurance on yourself or you vehicle, then shame on you.
