Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

I have a pending personal injury case with an attorney (contingency based). The last conversation I had with the attorney was in Nov. 2009 in which he stated he had submitted a request for trial. I have left numerous msgs for this attorney since then but no response. (This case has been in effect since Aug. 2006). I sent the attorney a certified letter a month ago requesting status of my case; no response to date. What are my options?

Go to the clerk of court in the Parish where the suit is filed and ask to look at the record. You can see what has or has not been done, including a motion to set a trial date. If the case is worth something, then you might want to contact another attorney in the area to look at it for you. And, you can always go to the bar association and file a complaint. Or call his office and tell the secretary you will do that if he does not personally call you in 24 hours. Also, you can call the bar association and inquire as to the status of an attorneys license.
