Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

Is there a tort law claim for mold exposure in Louisiana? I have been exposed to some different molds in a house I purchased, but I can not find a lawyer locally who could help. Are you aware of any lawyers who have experience with this? Thank you for your response back. Nefertiti

Yes, you can sue for mold exposure. Just about any attorney can handle that claim. You have to have a case against the defendant, though. If you want to sue the former owner, you have to be able to show that the mold was there when he sold you the house and that he knew or should have known of the condition and failed to disclose it. That is not always easy to prove. Also, many homeowners insurers have excluded mold cases from their policies, so you may not be able to collect from them.
