Legal Question in Product Liability in Louisiana

we have a personal injury due to product liability case ,three years now, the further into this case we get our attorney seems lost, although he says he has done these cases before. we are uncomfortable with what he has told us about the settlement he is working on. he is saying $800,000 for general damages and not adding in anything to make us whole again. that amount alone is $956,000, and he is not saying anything about the medicals we paid, the lost wages for both of us for 3 years, the future wages for both of us , the out of pocket for the damages to our home, etc. we both made well over $200,000 a year, yet our attorney wants to talk to us about $800,000---is he nuts, is he way out of his league on this, or are we expecting too much--we are looking for about 3-4 million dollars on this---a big name company microwave oven set itself on fire in the middle of the night and has caused my husband pulmonay problems, copd, sleep apnea, toxic chemical exposure, TBI, auto immune disease, out of control blood pressure, and other health problems--we have 2 expert reports on the faultyness of the microwave---we feel our attorney should be kicking butt on this and yet he justs wants to talk peanutswhen it comes to money---please let me know what you think---I want to fire the attorney and find someone WHO CAN handle this case

If you are unsatisfied with your current attorney, I would be happy to discuss this case with you. I can also give you the names of some other attorneys to talk to.

In regard to the statement on damages above, the general damage amount refers to pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, mental anguish and those types of damages.

Special damages would include lost wages, lost earning capacity, past and future medical expenses and any other specific monetary damages you have or will incur as a result of the injuries.

Seems like liability is strong but you need to know what the other side is saying is the cause of the fire. Are they claiming the product did not malfunction? Are they claiming the defect was not caused by them but by misuse or abuse of the product? You need to know just what the manufacture is claiming happened.

Please call at any time for a free consultation.
