agreement to buy home from family paid - not honor

Hello i need to know our rights.We paid off a loan for my dad and step mom with the understanding that after the loan was paid we would get 3 1/2 acres and house. We paid out loan in full on 12/29/06. My step mom refused to give us our land , filed for divorce and fighting to keep what is ours.My dad agreed to give us His portion. Step mom is trying to make it difficult. Instead of spliting land in widith she is spliting it in half. We have paid for all repairs house note and insurance on this house. We do not have signed agreement, because it was family, but i have copies of stuff we paid.Do we have case to stop her from getting our land.When went to sign papers they only wanted to put house not land we refused to sign.Dad said he would correct it . Didn't want to give now put in will, We refused. dad is working on giving us his portion in divorce. What is our rights. Is it worth going to court. Can they give us back all money we put on house in the 3 yrs we have been here. For repairs, Insurance, House notes. We paid out the loan 4 yrs early. But everything is in my dad's name. Dad is trying everything to keep us here. Should we have lawyer too. Incase we are not given what is ours. Thanks Kestlers

With nothing in writing it will be difficult to win in court. You should probably speak to an attorney in your area and bring all of your documentation with you. But it will be a hard case because the agreement to give you the land is not in writing.
