Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

i allowed a cousin to move in with me for approx 1 year. i asked her to vacate my home in Oct. 2011. she left but left many boxes filled with her property. i have asked her numerous times to come & get her belongings. they have been boxed up on my back porch now for 6 months. can i get rid of the items legally since she seems to not be interested in getting them. she always has some excuse why she can not get them. her stuff is in my way & is an eye sore. please advise. thanks so much.

You can file an eviction, which is what I would do. Once she is "evicted", the sheriff will come out and supervise the placing of her things on the street. That will be the end of your responsibility for her stuff.
