Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

My dad gave me a car last year. the car is in his name but now he is telling me he does not want to pay for it anymore and that i have to put the car in my name. i just turned 18 a couple of months ago so i have no credit. does he legally have the right to take the car back since it is his name even though it was a gift?

It ALWAYS was his CAR and NEVER yours. So give him the keys and walk away. You have no responsibility to pay for it unless your name is on the loan. Get yourself a $100 car and build your career.
