Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana
My father pass away in 2007, he left a will and stated that I was the executive of the estate, but my step mother live in the house as long as she don't remarry, it was wrote under something call a usfourst, I may not be spelling it right but, she has move to Macon GA and purchase a new home, then she rented the house out and she is benefiting from the rent. I have a brother, sister and my step mother and I whom the house would have to spilt between, I want to bought out, but due to the fact that I would not be returning to New Orleans. LA and my sibling have purchase home in Warren Robin GA, and MY brother in San Antonina TX, she want sell unless all are in agreement, but I know my sister want sell, and I understand thats her daughter, she don't want to sell because she is not sure what the furture hold, but i just want to be bought out. In louisiana can I be bought out

No one can be forced to own property with other people in Louisiana. You can force a sale of teh property but not until the usufruct is released. She has usufruct or use of the house until she remarries or dies.
Ms. Lucas is correct........she gets to use the property any way she wishes. withing reason, until she remarries or dies.
