Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

My father passed away 2 years ago,and left behind a house and I was wondering how can I go about getting the house. My mm and father was still legally married at the time of his death but they was not living together,and they also had mtwo kids (my sister which is now deceased,she was found murdered ) now its just me and my mom.But my dad also had a companion living with him so my question is."Who have legal rights to this house?"No he did not have a will.
