Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

We just found out that we have a gasline located 10 feet inside of our property line with a 20 foot servitude that was not disclosed during the sale. What needs to be done to rectify this?

If the servitude is legal and still valid, that is whoever was granted the servitude has not formally cancelled it, there is nothing to rectify. It is there. Seems strange that whoever did the title search prior to the sale missed that fact. You are bound by the public records.
