Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana
Good Faith Estimate
What are my consumer rights if I did not receive a Good Faith Estimate on a mortgage loan I just closed on? I was not aware of any origination fees or attorney fees until closing.

Re: Good Faith Estimate
it is a possible federal truth in lending violation. the law allows for up to $1,000.00 per violation plus attorney fees. The law allows for consumers to be able to bring an action by allowing for attorney fees in succesful actions. Additionally, when an attorney reviews your good faith and hud settlement statement they may find additional truth in lending violations
