Grant deed for equity share partners

Should I file a grant deed in the state I live in for a property I own in

Louisiana, if I want to grant 50% of the ownership to another California

resident?

Or should it be filed in Louisiana?

You must record it in the county of the state where the property is (or was) located -- Louisiana.
