I'm an heir to a seventh of property from my parents. What do I have to do to sell it and what will it cost?

You can never be forced to hold property with other owners. In other words, any of the co-owners can force a sale of the property. It is always a good idea to ask the other owners if they want to buy you out, though. Most people just agree to have the property appraised by a professional appraiser and pay that price to buy out the owner that wants out.
