can I be held responsible for a mortgage and 2nd mortgage that was awarded to my ex-wife in a divorce decree?

If you were not removed from the actual mortgage by the mortgage company the answer is yes. They can collect from you and you will have to attempt to collect from your ex. If you pay it you can foreclose on the property and actually become the owner if you do it correctly.
