homeowner's rights reguarding foreclosure

my husband and I bought a home on july o6,in opelousas,la. we were living in texas at the time when we purchased the home. and when we came to la. to live in the home my husband couldn't find work and he was out of work for about 7 months.we were trying to work out some other options like get the mortage reduced to a lower price.because eventually he did find a job and we were trying to work out some other options. first we got the papers saying they were going to seize the property on 6/25/08. we called the bank in reguards to the foreclosure papers they told us don't worry about that. and we called acouple of days ago and they told us that they sold the property. no letter, no phone call nothing.

In the mortgage you agreed that they could sue without notifying you. However, they must give notice of the sale and it sounds like you got that. You should worry about a deficiency judgment against you. That is, if they did not get enough to pay the entire mortgage, then you could still owe the difference. You need to get it to an Attorney so he can look at the paperwork you received.
